**Preparing to Teach the New WJEC Double Award Maths GCSE**

September is fast approaching—are you ready to teach the new WJEC Double Award Maths GCSE?

With three units to cover, planning the right teaching sequence is crucial. Have you decided on the order that best supports student understanding? What strategies will you use to assess progress effectively?

This transition brings challenges, but it also offers an opportunity to refine our approach and collaborate as a community of maths educators in Wales. Let’s share ideas, discuss strategies, and ensure we’re ready to provide our students with the best possible experience.

How are you planning your Scheme of work? Let’s start the conversation!

Structuring your teaching sequence effectively can make all the difference in student understanding and confidence. Should we begin with the unit that builds foundational skills, or dive straight into problem-solving techniques? How do we ensure smooth progression while keeping students engaged? Some schools are opting to follow the units numerically, others are choosing to address the cross over topics first, or perhaps you are thinking to go with Unit 2 or Unit 3 first?

I’d love to hear your thoughts! How are you approaching the order of units? What considerations have shaped your planning? Share your insights so we can navigate these changes together.

Let’s collaborate and make this transition as seamless as possible.
